You heard it here. I can not believe that while I was eating dinner tonight and fixing Luther his dinner too...that someone did not seed an article about the Red Cross' decision to become a diamond.
I am so upset with this... decision.... that I decided to say what I think before they say that they thought... or any of you picked it up.
I come from a long way back. back when the Red Cross... was the Red Cross.
I went through the recent period where the Red Cross had to be the Red Crescent in certain places and then had to be the whatever it had to be... in order to be permitted to help people who wanted, and needed help in those places.
I thought...that is really strange. The Red Cross is not accepted for what good does in some places? So they have to change their name to do good things? This is... bizarre.
But I live here with all of us... and bizarre is no longer a bizarre word. Bizarre is where we are.
It kinda rhymes... doesn't it?
But who invented that bizarre must be where we are?
The Red Cross has always been... to me... the Florence Nightingale of us. I never met her. I admire her for what I have heard she has done for us. But I never met her.
The new Red Box... is just not in keeping with my idea of Florence Nightingale. The new Red Box is cow-towing to someone.
I am not sure who that someone is ....but I suspect its initials...are PC.
If those guys (not to mention gals) at the Red Cross are going to change their names to Red Box... or more PC... to Red Diamond .... then I am gonna change my name to "Anonymous". And I am going to put them on the "no call list."
I won't be an "Anonymous" donor any more. But I will be an "Anonymous" caller. Just to tell them what I think of this disgusting decision on their part. And to tell them why I think... the Red Cross will be missed.
